The Note Wine Label Saver by HINCKLEY CELLARS

Peel and Preserve.

Keepsake memories in 5 easy steps.

Print Instructions

Follow these five easy steps, and in no time you’ll be able to remove your favorite labels and preserve them in the accompanying Italian leather wine journal. (Video demonstrations available).

1. Enjoy. Enjoy your wine! Always start with an empty bottle.

2. Moisten. Run the label under hot tap water for 15 to 60 seconds. This will soften the adhesive. Towel the bottle dry before placing it in The Note.

3. Peel. Remove leather blade cover from The Note blade. Place the wine bottle horizontally into The Note cradle. Align the edge of the label with the blade. Apply even downward pressure on the bottle as you rotate the bottle against the blade, thereby removing the label from the bottle. You should feel the spring action as you press down on the bottle, which keeps the blade in even contact with the glass. Self-adhesive labels tend to roll up, so you may need to stop and uncurl the label as you go in order to avoid the label sticking onto itself. Likewise, some glued labels tend to fold up, so be sure to stop to gently pull the wrinkles out as you peel the label. (See “Tips for Getting Started” on reverse side.) Always keep hands away from blade.

4. Place. With the blade cover in place, use the rolled side of The Note to gently press and burnish the label flat into your journal. The adhesive on the label should be all you need for it to stick. No glue required!

5. Preserve. Record your tasting notes, who you enjoyed it with and where you purchased the wine. Or have your guests sign and record the memories of a special occasion!

Honor the wine. Savor the memories!

The NoteTM is designed to remove labels from standard 750 ml wine bottles. It is not designed to remove labels from odd-shaped wine and champagne bottles. Store The Note with blade cover in place, safely out of reach of children.

Tips for Getting Started

• Old world “glued” labels generally turn from white to a mottled grey when wet enough to remove using The Note. Do not oversoak as they quickly lose adhesive quality.

• Modern self-adhesive labels respond best to heat to soften the adhesive prior to removal using The Note. Use hot water and remove label while still warm.

• Blade must be evenly placed against the glass. Avoid placing the blade against uneven spots in the bottle surface when possible. (For example, some bottles flare slightly at bottom).

• Stand over the bottle, press down evenly until you feel spring action, then, evenly rotate the bottle.

• The trick is to get the label edge started evenly. Never use excessive force to remove the label; if it is too difficult to remove, simply give it a longer hot water soak.

• Watch the label, if it begins to fold, curl or crumple, stop, straighten the label and continue.

• Even downward pressure prevents the label from getting fouled by the blade.
